In this thangka, surrounded by other figures and by lotus flowers and clouds appears, in the center, white Manjushri.
Manjushri in this manifestation of his white-colored body, a symbol of purity, represents profound wisdom.
Seated in the posture of deep concentration he holds in his right hand a lotus flower from which rises a flaming sword, while with his left hand he holds another lotus flower on which rests a sutra, both indicating the necessary balance of method and wisdom.
Elsewhere in the center we find the Akshobhya Buddha, and on either side are the two figures representing the mahasiddhas and sages.
At the bottom are yellow Manjushri and Saraswati.
This thangka was specially painted for the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute in Pomaia.
