It is said that seeing a Mandala changes the imprint in our mind: a Mandala is a representation of the Buddha’s mind, therefore of our enlightened mind.
The image of the Mandala is able to spread and connect with qualities of peace and harmony.
A Mandala can also be used to recall a certain kind of energy and as a tool for a whole path.
The Mandala represents the palace of the deity, the place where the deity manifests itself in its quality, in this case compassion.
We can visualize it in three dimensions.
The three outer circles of fire, vajras and petals protect the interior, the palace with its four gates in the direction of the cardinal points.
The four colors (blue, yellow, white and green) and the symbols (vajra, jewels, Dharma wheel and sword) indicate the four Buddhas: Akshobya, Ratnasambhava, Vairochana and Amoghasiddhi with their qualities.
In the center, in the red circle, the lotus flower, symbol of Amitabha: it turns passion into compassion.
