The “right” balance
I am preparing a new canvas, in itself the steps would be not complicated but really for me it is a moment that requires a lot of care.
Over time I have learned that I prefer to work on it in the first half of the day…and I don’t have to have things to do afterwards, because it requires an inner preparation: to be quite quiet and at the same time effective and in action.
The canvas must be pulled to the frame, not too much but not too little as well as the glue must be strong but not too strong, the liquid chalk but not too much, in the drafting pressure but not too much…. put attention and at the same time not be too worried about the result…. in short is really a search for balance.
Whoever learns or dedicates himself to an art, whatever its form, knows that there is no other way… to do, try, experiment, make mistakes, understand… many and many times.
Starting a new thangka is always exciting!
