Machig Labdron was a great Tibetan yoghini.
From a very young age she manifested a great and deep knowledge of the sutra of the perfection of wisdom and was in fact recognized as a manifestation of Prajnaparamita.
She studied under the guidance of important Lamas.
He gave rise to the practice of Chod; this practice is done in frightening, fearful places, such as cemeteries or other places that can instill fear in the practitioner with the purpose of severing the illusion of the intrinsic existence of the ego.
Chod practice teaches how to gain an immediate and deep understanding of the great emptiness.
